SUMMARY: Newton’s Third Law states: “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.” But what does that mean? It means if you don’t want to be a coward you have to act.
In “Weak Hero Class 2”, Yeon Si-Eun hasn’t gotten over the trauma of one of his best friends being killed by the other best friend. He sees a psychiatrist, takes pills to sleep, and has the same recurring dream (or nightmare). Because of what happened at the old school, he was transferred to a new school. The new school has just as many bullies as the old school.
He wants to be ignored as if he doesn’t exist. But he can’t ignore when others are being harassed and mistreated. However, IF he steps up to defend them … THEN he can’t be ignored. He applies Newton’s Third Law in those situations. “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.” That was the advice he gave, Seo Jun-Tae, a classmate, who was being tormented by bullies.
Seo Jun-Tae runs around delivering snacks to students, who push him around. That’s not the bad part. The bad part is that they make him steal mobile phones from other students. Basically, through coercion, they are making him participate in their criminal activities. He stole Yeon Si-Eun’s phone and gave it to the bullies, but felt guilty, so he told Yeon Si-Eun what he had done. He said he didn’t have a choice. Yeon Si-Eun told him that he was just being a coward. Seo Jun-Tae told him he didn’t know how to NOT be a coward. Yeon Si-Eun told him to apply Newton’s Third Law. Seo Jun-Tae returned all of the phones he had stolen to the owners and prepared himself to take a beating from the bullies.
*Excellent Actor (mini series) AND **Best New Actor
My personal rating is the same as MDL.
You can be the most peaceful peacemaker in the world. But there’s something so satisfying about watching bad guys and bullies get their butts kicked! Not all reviewers were satisfied with “Weak Hero Class 2“. But I liked it! Check out PopGeeks Review of Weak Hero Class 1.
