Written by Yoon Soo-jung and directed by Yoon Sung-sik (Mr. Queen, Bridal Mask), the drama tells the tale of Yeo-ri, a shaman rejecting her fate, and Kang Cheol-i, an Imoogi trapped in the body of her first love, Yoon Gap. Together, they face an eight-faced ghost with a vendetta against the royal family, leading to a thrilling entanglement of body and soul.

The Haunted Palace boasts a stellar cast, including Yook Sung-jae, Kim Ji-yeon, and Kim Ji-hoon, with a special appearance by Kim Young-kwang. Excitement surged with the release of the script reading session, where the actors showcased their synergy from the very start.

Portraying both the noble Yoon Gap and the cunning Imoogi, Yook Sung Jae impresses with his ability to switch between the affectionate first love and the 1,000-year-old entity’s arrogance. His effortless embrace of the fantasy setting heightens anticipation for his performance in this unique rom-com.

As Yeo-ri, a shaman who refuses to be bound by destiny, Kim Ji Yeon captures the character’s complex emotions with finesse. From navigating her past love with Yoon Gap to resisting the Imoogi’s claim on her soul, she seamlessly balances vulnerability and resilience. Her chemistry with Yook Sung-jae, shifting between comedic banter and an irresistible push-and-pull dynamic, promises an unforgettable romance.

Kim Ji Hoon commands attention as King Lee Seong, a reformist monarch fighting political strife and the supernatural. His tense relationship with Yoon Gap—once a loyal subject, now an Imoogi-possessed adversary—adds intrigue, while his alliance with Yeo-ri and Kang Cheol-i against the vengeful ghost fuels anticipation.

Supporting actors, including Gil Hae-yeon, Kim In-kwon, Son Byung-ho, and Han Soo-yeon, further enrich the narrative, blending humor, romance, and palace drama seamlessly.

The production team teases an extraordinary fusion of humor, mystery, and romance, amplified by the cast’s dynamic performances.

So, mark your calendars for April, because SBS is about to deliver a spring drama you won’t want to miss! Prepare for gods, ghosts, and a whole lot of hilarious, heartwarming chaos in The Haunted Palace!
