Curiously, the series will debut on Amazon Prime Video rather than Disney+. While Venom was a surprise box office hit, titles like Morbius and Kraven the Hunter landed with all the grace of a web line in the rain. But Spider Noir might be the antihero Sony needs—grizzled, grounded, and refreshingly uninterested in saving the multiverse.

Spider Noir is being helmed by showrunners Steve Lightfoot and Oren Uziel, with Harry Bradbeer directing. With this creative team and Cage’s deadpan delivery, the series promises equal parts grit, gloom, and gallows humor.
