Six Flags is a franchise of amusement parks with over 40 locations throughout America (except the entire Northwest region). The flagship location is Magic Mountain in Los Angeles, home to multiple roller coasters like the Twisted Colossus, Tatsu, Goliath, Full Throttle and X2. Six Flags also features appearances from costumed licensed characters like DC Heroes, Looney Tunes and Peanuts. Wait, did Knott’s Berry Farm lose Peanuts? (No, Six Flags bought Knott’s Berry Farm.)
Speaking of corporate buyouts, Warner Bros used to own Six Flags outright, until they sold off the parks years ago. Despite this, they’ve kept a business relationship with Six Flags, who continues its use of WB characters under license. We’re bringing all this up because Six Flags Magic Mountain is about to launch their big event for the summer, the DC Heroes and Villains Fest, where the park will quite literally be taken over by DC’s cast of iconic characters.
DC Heroes and Villains Fest will unfold daily in the DC Universe section of Six Flags Magic Mountain, one of the park’s most popular areas. The entire space transforms into an immersive battleground between good and evil, with themed music, food, drinks, and plenty of in-character mayhem. The event is included with general park admission, season passes, and memberships. No separate ticket needed. Showtimes and exact locations for each activity won’t be printed on maps or signs but will appear dynamically in the Six Flags mobile app, keeping things spontaneous and encouraging exploration.

This summer takeover is designed as a full-scale narrative experience. Guests become honorary citizens of Gotham and are drawn into an evolving storyline, complete with costumed actors, stunt professionals, and themed dance parties. Each show and appearance moves the story forward, and visitors can actively choose whether they want to align with the Justice League or throw in their lot with Gotham’s most notorious troublemakers. Whether you’re there for selfies with Superman or to dance with Harley’s hyenas, expect an interactive experience that runs deeper than your average character photo-op.
Starting June 20, Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman and Robin of the Justice League will arrive with great fanfare, but their celebration will be spoiled by the arrival of The Joker, Harley Quinn and Catwoman, who were able to break out of Arkham that day thanks to mastermind Lex Luthor. From that point forward the villains will crash events throughout the park, turning them into their own dance parties. There’s an overarching story to the whole thing, one that guests of Six Flags will be wrapped into as they become citizens of Gotham, individually choosing the sides of heroes or villains. Imagine the family conflict when Dad is Pro-Superman and Little Jill is Team Joker. “You wanna get grounded?”
DC Heroes and Villains Fest will be made up of multiple segments with a full cast of performers, stunt people, dancers and effects wizards. Here are the main attractions:
The festivities will begin with this special presentation on the festival stage, where the plot we just described will kick into gear. The Mayor of Gotham City will host and introduce the special super-guests, for as long as he can.
This is the event’s meet and greet area, where guests will be able to hug and take selfies with DC heroes Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. We’re told Superman will try to pressure you into choosing the heroes side. This will depend on if Joker has candy.
