Reasons to watch: I love a good crime story, but I can’t help but get a little fatigued at seeing drama after drama with nearly all-male cast members. In a refreshing change of pace, ENA’s latest crime comedy focuses on a group of regular women who come together to take down a villain who threatens the safety of their neighborhood.
In Salon de Holmes our four protagonists, Lee Shi-young, Jung Young-joo, Dasom, and Nam Ki-ae, all have vastly different personalities but each of them have a very particular set of skills that are perfect for solving crime. They first come together to root out the culprits behind the minor inconveniences of community living, like parking bandits and gum litterbugs.
Though they find friendship in one another, the lighter crimes are quickly overshadowed by the reappearance of a dangerous criminal who’s managed to evade the police for years. Despite the risks involved, our four protagonists are determined to protect their neighborhood together.
TL;DR: A feel-good story that centers women finding fulfillment outside of their homes as they kick butt and fight crime.
