Publisher PM Studios and developer Pocket Trap will soon present Pipistrello And The Cursed Yoyo on consoles and PC. The game is a 2D action platformer that’s kind of a cross between Mario and the older Zelda games — it’s an overhead perspective, but you’ll be doing a lot of jumping to get to the next area.
Pippit, the main character, is a bat. A powerful crime syndicate is trying to take over his city, and to make sure Pippit stays in line, they’ve kidnapped his dear aunt! They picked the wrong flying mammal to harass this time, though. Pippit’s got a yoyo and knows how to use it. Guide him through the streets and into the underworld to reclaim the Pipistrello family’s honor.
Pippit’s yoyo can be upgraded and changed in many ways — there are over 40 equipable badges and 20 passive upgrades that bestow abilities and advantages. “Combining certain badges might make you more powerful in battle or subtly alter the way your yoyo works — it’s up to you to find the right mix,” says PM Studios.
There is a demo out now for Pipistrello And The Cursed Yoyo, and not just on PC — it’s on every platform the game is planned for. Try it out and watch for the full game to hit Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch, XBox Series X|S and PC May 28.
