Park Ji-hoon puts bullies in their place in Weak Hero Class 2

Following a traumatizing school year in Wavve’s Weak Hero Class 1, the dejected Park Ji-hoon (Love Song for Illusion) has transferred to another high school on Netflix for Weak Hero Class 2. But alas trouble has come in tow, ringing in another battle against bullies with the new season’s first poster and official video teaser.

Jumping straight into the action, the trailer begins with Yeon Shi-eun (Park Ji-hoon) amid swinging blows, apologizing to his friend Soo-ho (played by Choi Hyun-wook in Season 1) through voiceover for deciding to fight once again. We then backtrack a little to when Shi-eun transfers to Season 2’s school and tries to keep his distance from the students in his new class.

Despite the spreading rumors about what happened at Shi-eun’s old school (in the previous season), Choi Min-young (XO, Kitty, Twenty Five Twenty One), Ryeoun (The History of Losers), and Lee Min-jae (Kick Kick Kick Kick) show kindness and warmly welcome Shi-eun into their buddy group. In a hopeful sequence, we watch as their friendship begins to crack through Shi-eun’s walls.

Sadly, though, we just can’t have nice things in this series and the baddie students – Yoo Soo-bin (The Perfect Deal), Bae Nara (Evilive), and Lee Jun-young (When Life Gives You Tangerines) – make their presence known. However, it seems they have seriously underestimated the wrath of our young hero and the teaser ominously closes on Shi-eun’s final warning.

Production for Netflix’s Weak Hero Class 2 remains in the hands of filmmaker Yoo Soo-min (Thirsty, Weak Hero Class 1) – who is brothers with actor Yoo Soo-bin in real life – with scripts co-written by Park Hyun-woo. The webtoon adaptation’s upcoming second season will be releasing this month on April 25.
