Promos continue on tvN for the upcoming romance Our Unwritten Seoul, which is shaping up to be quite the think piece about life as we follow our separate-but-connected twin heroines – played by Park Bo-young (Melo Movie) – in the newest teaser.
Having grown as two peas from the same pod, we see in the opening sequence that sisters Yoo Mi-ji (Park Bo-young) and Yoo Mi-rae (also Park Bo-young) were always together since birth. But as they grew older, their paths went in different directions and the brawny Mi-ji pursued athletics, though she wasn’t able to get very far. And Mom Jang Young-nam (Love Next Door) (unfairly) compares Mi-ji’s supposed failure to the brainy Mi-rae’s supposed success.
However, as the audience, we can see Mi-ji and Mi-rae’s lives in parallel, and it’s pretty clear that Mi-rae has been suffering in silence for quite some time. Thankfully, Mi-ji rushes over in time to save her twin. And thus begins their joint lie when the two switch identities and try to live in each other’s stead.
Here enters Ryu Kyung-soo (The Bequeathed), making sparks fly with the pretend Mi-ji (who is really Mi-rae) and impressing her with the sentiment that, “There are things that you can see more clearly in the dark.” Elsewhere, Got7’s Jinyoung (The Witch) offers his heart-fluttering help to our other twin, the pretend Mi-rae (who is really Mi-ji). The teaser then closes on a hopeful note as Grandma Cha Mi-kyung (When Life Gives You Tangerines) reassures our heroines that, “The things you do to survive are all brave things.”
Production for the series has PD Park Shin-woo (When the Stars Gossip, It’s Okay to Not Be Okay) directing, alongside scripts penned by writer Lee Kang (Youth of May). Slated to premiere on May 24 next week, tvN’s Our Unwritten Seoul will be following Resident Playbook in the weekend slot and will be streaming internationally on Netflix.
