Setting up more of the story to come in tvN’s upcoming Our Unwritten Seoul, the rom-com’s latest promos include a new poster and teaser of our twin leads played by Park Bo-young (Melo Movie).
The teaser begins once again with some self-reflection as Yoo Mi-ji (Park Bo-young) thinks about her present life in comparison to her sister Yoo Mi-rae (also Park Bo-young). As identical twins, the two started off in the exact same space and time, but their lives diverged somewhere along the line as they grew into adulthood. On her part, Mi-ji had once been heralded as a promising athlete before her career came to an early end. And now, Mi-ji feels broken and unaccomplished like a deflated ball, especially next to the supposedly successful Mi-rae.
However, Mi-ji soon finds out in the sequence that Mi-rae’s so-called fancy life and cushy office job are not all that it’s cut out to be. Poor Mi-rae had long been crumbling from within and lands herself in the hospital when the stress becomes too much to bear. It’s even come to the point that Mi-rae doesn’t know what she wants anymore, let alone how to change her life going forward.
This is when Mi-ji and Mi-rae begin their secret promise, though it is a pretty big lie to all the people around them. Mi-ji thus becomes Mi-rae in her place, in the city, while the real Mi-rae returns to their family home in the countryside to now live as Mi-ji. But the teaser also closes on a curious note, suggesting that this may not be the first (or last) time that our two twin sisters made this pinky promise.
Directed by PD Park Shin-woo (When the Stars Gossip, It’s Okay to Not Be Okay) with scripts by Lee Kang (Youth of May), tvN’s Our Unwritten Seoul will unfolds its story on weekends, premiering on May 24.
