Park Bo Young and Kim Sung Cheol lead this gritty, fast-paced tale of smuggling, secrets and survival!
Disney+ has unveiled its newest Korean original series, Gold Land — a pulse-pounding crime thriller penned by Oldboy screenwriter Hwang Joyoon.
Starring Light Shop Keeper’s Park Bo Young and No Way Out: The Roulette’s Kim Sung Cheol, the series promises high tension, unexpected twists, and emotional depth.
Gold Land follows Kim Heeju (Park Bo Young), a woman from a quiet rural town who stumbles into dangerous territory after unwittingly landing a van packed with smuggled gold. Suddenly on the run from ruthless criminals, Heeju is forced to revisit the hometown — and the past — she thought she left behind for good.
Kim Sungcheol plays Jang Wook (a.k.a. Woogy), a member of the very organization hunting Heeju down — and someone who shares a complicated history with her from their childhood.
Directed by Kim Sunghoon (Chief Detective 1958, Confidential Assignment) and written by Hwang Joyoon (Oldboy, Rampant, Memoir of a Murderer), Gold Land delivers a potent mix of suspense, action, and emotional intrigue.
This series is part of Disney+’s expanding lineup of must-watch Korean content. Other upcoming titles include Delusion (working title), a supernatural tale of a grief-stricken vampire; Low Life, a gritty treasure hunt among deceitful outcasts; and Tempest, a geopolitical thriller involving a diplomat and a special agent uncovering a high-stakes conspiracy.
Gold Land is set to premiere exclusively on Disney+. Stay tuned for more updates.
