Im Ji-yeon, Ha Yoon-kyung

• A new fantasy rom-com called Brave New World (roughly translated) is on the horizon for SBS and an offer is out to Im Ji-yeon (The Tale of Lady Ok) to play a modern-day no-name actor whose body gets taken over by a Joseon-era spirit. Adding to the fish-out-of-water fun, the spirit is actually a villainous concubine who was executed by poison in her human life. Aiming to broadcast in 2026, production is planning to start filming later this year with PD Han Tae-sub (Cheer Up, Stove League) attached to direct.[Ilgan Sports, Newsen]

• Ha Yoon-kyung (Gangnam B-Side) is joining the cast of Miss Undercover Boss in the late 1990s, becoming a personal secretary in the black comedy and office series. With Park Shin-hye (The Judge From Hell) reportedly in the title role, we’ll be following the two along with Go Kyung-pyo (Frankly Speaking) when the period adventure unfolds in early next year. Expected to broadcast on tvN, PD Park Sun-ho (Brewing Love, Business Proposal) is directing with scripts by Moon Hyun-kyung (Memorials). [Star News]
• On KBS, For Eagle Brothers will be soaring through the weekends a little longer than planned, now that the story has been extended by 4 episodes. Starring Eom Ji-won (The Trunk) and Ahn Jae-wook (Not Others) among others in the large ensemble cast, the family drama premiered on February 1 and was originally slated for 50 episodes. With four extra episodes, the weekender will now run until early August. [MBC]

• Other than a few recent cameos, Shim Eun-kyung (Way Back Love) has been spending most of her time across the pond in Japan. But she’s reportedly planning a more substantial return to K-dramaland in the upcoming How to Become a Building Owner in South Korea (literal translation). • Oh Yeon-seo (Player 2 – Master of Swindlers) and Choi Jin-hyuk (Miss Night and Day) are reviewing offers for a new drama version of the popular webnovel and webtoon Positively Yours. With the two up to play marriage-averse singles who get pregnant after a one-night fling, production for the rom-com is currently in the early stages. [My Daily]
• In the meantime, new posters and the first video teaser have dropped for Bitch x Rich 2, with Season 1’s Lee Eun-saem (Cheer Up) and Red Velvet’s Yeri back as our rival teen leads. Also starring Minkyu (Missing Crown Prince) as a new student in this Season 2, the psychological-thriller will be coming to our screens on July 3 and will be streaming on Viki as well as other international platforms.
