I’m a bit late to post about the June premieres. But better late than never! So without further ado, here is the list of Korean dramas that have premiered or will premiere this month:
Premiere Date: June 13
Network: SBS
Stars: Nam Goong Min (My Dearest), Jeon Yeo Been (A Time Called You), Seo Hyeon Woo (Uncle Samsik), Lee Seol (Less Than Evil)
Slot: Friday & Saturday
Number Of Episodes: 12
Genre: Romance, Melodrama
Synopsis: A love story between a film director who is struggling with an uncertain future and an aspiring actress who is suffering from a terminal illness.
Thoughts: I really want to watch this — the alluring cast and Nam Goong Min playing a romantic lead in a modern drama. But we already know it is going to be a sad one.
Premiere Date: June 27
Network: Netflix
Stars: Lee Jung Jae (Chief Of Staff), Lee Byung Hun (Our Blues), Wi Ha Joon (The Midnight Romance In Hangwon), Im Si Wan (Misaeng), Kang Ha Neul (Curtain Call), Park Sung Hoon (Queen Of Tears), Yang Dong Geun (Moving)
Slot: All episodes released together
Number Of Episodes: 6
Genre: Romance, Comedy
Synopsis: Seong Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae) is back in the games. This time, the stakes are raised and the competition in the very deadly games is even more deadly.
Thoughts: I have not seen the previous seasons, so my excitement level is 0. But I know this doesn’t match with the global anticipation that the show generates.
Premiere Date: June 11
Network: KBS
Stars: Taecyeon (Heartbeat), Seohyun (Jinxed At First), Kwon Han Sol (The Witch), Seo Bum June (Hierarchy)
Slot: Wednesday & Thursday
Number Of Episodes: 12

Synopsis: The soul of an ordinary college student transports into a minor character in a historical romance novel, where she ends up spending the night with the main male lead. She tries to bring the female lead of the novel closer to him, but he keeps falling for her instead.
Thoughts: I love the synopsis — main character falling for the minor character!. I’m checking this out for sure!
Premiere Date: June 16
Network: ENA
Stars: Lee Si Young (Sweet Home), Jung Young Joo (Lovely Runner), Kim Da Som (Serendipity’s Embrace), Nam Gi Ae (My Dearest)
Slot: Monday & Tuesday
Number Of Episodes: 10
Genre: Comedy, Action
Synopsis: Four women, who live in the same apartment complex, team up to solve problems arising in their community and take down the troublemakers there.
Thoughts: The show sounds adventurous and fun!
Premiere Date: June 6
Network: Netflix
Stars: So Ji Sub (Master’s Sun), Huh Joon Ho (Bloodhounds), Ahn Kil Kang (Bitter Sweet Hell), Lee Beom Soo (Last), Gong Myung (Be Melodramatic)
Slot: All episodes released together
Number Of Episodes: 7
Genre: Action, Crime, Drama
Synopsis: After severing ties with his gang, a former gangster returns to uncover the truth behind his brother’s death — embarking on a relentless path of revenge.
Thoughts: I have heard mixed reviews about it. It looks too violent and bloody to give it a try.
Premiere Date: June 16
Network: U+ Mobile TV, Disney+
Stars: Park Ju Hyun (The Forbidden Marriage), Park Yong Woo (Tracer), Kang Hoon (Dear Hyeri)
Slot: Monday to Thursday
Number Of Episodes: 16
Genre: Thriller, Mystery, Crime
Synopsis: A brilliant but troubled forensic pathologist, while conducting an autopsy, recognizes the signature murder method of her father, a serial killer who she thought had died 20 years ago. She then sets out to track down her father.
Thoughts: This sounds intriguing — also seems to have blood, violence and darkness. This is why I’m not sure yet if I’m gonna watch this.
Premiere Date: June 19
Network: TVING
Stars: Yoon Hyun Soo (Chief Detective 1958), Choi Woo Sung (Chief Detective 1958), Lee Jung Sic (Tracer), Kim Ji Woo (Namib), Hong Hwa Yeon (Buried Hearts), Lee Bong Joon (Resident Playbook)
Slot: Thursday
Number Of Episodes: 8
Genre: Political, Drama, Comedy
Synopsis: A student with good grades becomes a laughing stock of his school after an unfortunate incident. However, his path takes an unexpected twist when he’s suddenly nominated as a candidate for vice president in the student council election.
Thoughts: This drama has a combination of genres that are not exactly my go-to ones — high school and politics. LOL.
Premiere Date: June 23
Network: tvN
Stars: Choo Young Woo (The Trauma Code: Heroes On Call), Cho Yi Hyun (The Matchmakers), Choo Ja Hyun (My Unfamiliar Family), Cha Kang Yoon (The Art Of Negotiation)
Slot: Monday & Tuesday
Number Of Episodes: 12
Genre: Romance, Fantasy
Synopsis: A high school student leads a double life as a shaman by night. She tries to save a guy, who is her first love, from his predestined death.
Thoughts: This show sounds a lot like Lovely Runner, what with the female lead trying to save the male lead’s life. I hope Head Over Heels is as romantic, funny and thrilling as that superhit drama.
