Miss Fortune ~ Whoa! That Guy is a Bigger Thief Than Me!

In “Miss Fortune”, Lee Ji-Hye and Lee Joo-Young are a mother-daughter criminal duo. Only Lee Ji-Hye does not want a criminal life for her daughter, and her daughter also does not want to lead a criminal life. But they are both good at the bad thing that they do, i.e., commit crime, and they’ve never been caught. So they decide to pull off one last job. Did everything go as smoothly as they planned? Of course not!
Lee Ji-Hye planned to sneak into the home of Park Ki-Hyeong, a man who owns priceless cultural artifacts. How? By seducing his son, Park Wan-Kyu. Based on what she gleaned from his social media profile, she can become the “perfect woman” that he is looking for. Once she gains his trust and access to his home (he lives with his father), she and her daughter will break into the treasure vault and take out as much as they can.
Lee Ji-Hye also researched the father’s background, and it appears he is a ruthless and traitorous crook, pretending to be suffering from alzheimer’s. He’s selling the country’s national treasures. How dare he? She’s a thief. But he’s a thief and a traitor! Even so, she’s still going to try to go up against this bad guy? I guess since this is the last job, if she succeeds, she and her daughter can simply disappear. Right?
Meanwhile, her daughter, Lee Joo-Young, accidentally crossed paths with a detective who happens to be searching for her mother. He only has a photo of her when she was young, about her daughter’s age. The police don’t know what she looks like now. The photo is all they have to go on. Even when the detective was standing right in front of Lee Ji-Hye, he didn’t recognize her. Lee Joo-Young plans to seduce the detective so she can get him to tell her details about the cases he’s working on. That way, the mother-daughter crime duo will stay two steps ahead of law enforcement.
If they can manage not to get caught by both the police and Park Ki-Hyeong, it should all work out just fine. Right? After all, this isn’t their first rodeo. They have accomplished several successful capers. But they are hoping this will be their last “job”. Worst case scenario?
- If they are caught by the police, they’ll go to jail.
- If they get caught by Park Ki-Hyeong, they could die!
That’s why they need to coordinate with each other. Think they can do it?

I can’t go as low as IMDb or as high as MDL. “Miss Fortune” is a corny crime comedy to watch when you don’t want to increase your anxiety level and fry your brain trying to figure out who dun it! Your inner Sherlock Holmes will be needed for this kooky caper.
