Even though Fairy Tail is no stranger to the US manga shelf, we’ve never had an art book related to the series localized before. That’s about to change — Kodansha just announced Magnolia, an all-encompassing art book covering the entire main Fairy Tail series, for release in the States.
Magnolia: FAIRY TAIL Complete Illustrations is in full color and contains over 450 illustrations from Fairy Tail’s 63-volumes, which were published over 11 years. run. Lucy, Natsu, Gray, Wendy, Erza, Juvia, Happy, and dozens more are all represented. We’d show you what it all looks like, but Kodansha has yet to reveal the innards of Magnolia — only the news that it is on the way.
In the world of FAIRY TAIL: Cute girl wizard Lucy wants to join the FAIRY TAIL, a club for the most powerful wizards. But instead her ambitions land her in the clutches of a gang of unsavory pirates led by a devious magician. Her only hope is Natsu, a strange boy she happens to meet on her travels. Natsu’s not your typical hero—he gets motion sickness, eats like a pig, and his best friend is a talking cat. With friends like this, is Lucy better off with her enemies?
Currently Kodansha publishes the entire Fairy Tail series and its spinoffs, including the most recent Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest. More info on Magnolia, like when we could see it hit store shelves, is forthcoming.
