Lee Soo-hyuk is troubled by S Line’s red connections

A new poster and teaser have come out for the dark fantasy S Line, stringing us into a strange world streaked and snared in red for Lee Soo-hyuk (Queen Woo), Lee Da-hee (The Divorce Insurance), and Arin (Alchemy of Souls 2).

This is how Shin Hyun-heub (Arin) has viewed the world since birth, somehow seeing these otherwise invisible red lines of thread that stretch and shrink over any distance, strung between those who are or have been sexual partners at any time. The teaser lends us her red-tinged sight as Hyun-heub amasses quite the collection of clues, wondering who else can see these S lines in question, and resolving to discover the truth of why these lines were made at all.

Adding to the befuddling mystery, the curious high school teacher Kyu-jin (Lee Da-hee) begins passing around a special pair of glasses and one makes its way to Detective Han Ji-wook (Lee Soo-hyuk). The glasses allow the wearers to become like Hyun-heub, opening their eyes to the interweaving S line connections and this results in both scandalous and disturbing secrets to come to light. The teaser then comes to a close as  chaos unfolds in the sequence, while Kyu-jin eerily proclaims that the world will soon be bathed in red.

Adapted from the same-titled webtoon by the famed Ggomabi (the original webtoonist behind Netflix’s A Killer Paradox), production for the 6-episode thriller has filmmaker Ahn Joo-young (A Boy and Sungreen) handling both directing and scripts – co-written together with Hwang Ho-gil and Kim Joon-hyun.

Although S Line has not yet been confirmed for TV or online streaming, the series has the honor of being selected to compete in the 2025 Canneseries (Cannes International Series Festival, Season 8) and will be screening Episodes 1-2 in a worldwide premiere later this month.

The festival will also feature a non-competitive segment titled Korean Fiction, showcasing MBC’s Doubt (starring Han Seok-kyu, Chae Won-bin, Han Ye-ri) and U+ Mobile TV’s Hunter with a Scalpel (starring Park Yong-woo, Park Joo-hyun, Kang Hoon) among other works.
