Lee Jung-ha and Kim Do-wan become ONE – High School Heroes

Wavve has announced its first series of 2025 starring Lee Jung-ha (The Auditors) and Kim Do-wan (Wedding Impossible) in an action-packed school drama about bullies, fighting, and defying expectations. Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, ONE – High School Heroes shares a lot of similarities with the streaming site’s other popular high school drama, so here’s hoping they capture that magic once more.
Kim Eui-Gyeom (Lee Jung-ha) is at the top of his class, but contrary to his gentle personality and academic excellence, he has a different hidden talent. After transferring schools, he becomes the target of bullying as they harass him nonstop, and though no one seems to stick up for the new kid, someone does take an interest in him. Kang Yoon-ki (Kim Do-wan) smiles at a bloody Eui-gyeom who asks why he is doing this, and our bespectacled observer muses, “Personal curiosity?”
While leading a pack of students, Yoon-ki claims that fighting is a talent, and the teaser gives a quick flash of the various opponents they will have to face. Eui-gyeom sighs that there are too many bad guys in this world, and he dons his headphones, becoming a new person.
The bullies hit Eui-gyeom, pour soda over his head, and make his life a nightmare, but once Yoon-ki gives him the go-ahead, it seems our young hero can defend himself quite well. Standing in a dark hallway with blood splattered across his face, Eui-gyeom listens to music as bodies lay across the aisle, evidence of his conquest.
As the two high school heroes take down their foes one by one, Yoon-ki says with determination that they only have two left. With Eui-gyeom partnering up with Yoon-ki, the new duo flip the script at school and punch their way to the top.
Directed by filmmaker Lee Sung-tae (By Quantum Physics – A Nightlife Venture) with scripts by Kim Young-eun, Wavve’s ONE – High School Heroes is slated for eight episodes and set to premiere at the end of this month.
