Home sweet home as the old adage goes, except for poor Kang Haneul (Tastefully Yours) in Netflix’s upcoming thriller Wall to Wall. Starring as tormented homeowner Noh Woo-sung, our unfortunate hero thought he achieved his dream but, instead, wakes up in a living nightmare.
The newest trailer opens with a scathing narration about fools who go beyond their means to turn their lives around, and that very person is Woo-sung. After borrowing money to finally buy a place of his own, he is left with a mounting debt that threatens to crush him. Rather than sell the apartment— “What if the prices rise?” he laments — Woo-sung steals office snacks and works a second job to keep afloat.
To make matters worse, Woo-sung comes home to a barrage of sticky notes from his neighbors begging him to be quiet. However, the real culprit is from above, and our haggard hero can barely get a wink of sleep due to the constant banging from apartment 1501.
Woo-sung turns to resident representative Yeom Hye-ran (When Life Gives You Tangerines) for assistance, but as the penthouse owner, her advice is far removed from reality. “Let’s hang in there,” she casually drops, as if Woo-sung wasn’t already on the brink of insanity.
As tensions rise in their building, someone comments that committing murder would drop their property value, and for Woo-sung, there is nothing scarier than that. It becomes a battle between floors as upstairs neighbor Seo Hyun-woo (Our Movie) warns Woo-sung that he’ll never win against someone above, but Woo-sung screams that he will find evidence.
While everyone suspects Woo-sung, and Woo-sung suspects everyone else, the conflict escalates until he finally snaps. As he walks out of his home covered in blood, the resident representative states, “The building’s not to blame. Ultimately, people are the problem.”
