But, of course, this trip also serves as a means to help romance bloom and get one certain character to move on and find a better love interest.

The Divorce Insurance Episodes 5 and 6 Highlights

“If there are warning signs of divorce, we must handle it within the golden hour.”

As it turns out, the violation wasn’t related to Na-rae and her superior’s activities, but to a promotional offer to throw a divorce ceremony to the first 10 people signing up for the divorce insurance. The high cost makes it illegal, but if it is not fulfilled, it will be a false advertisement. Pushed into a tight corner, Ki-jun promises to prevent divorce among the first 10 applicants for the entire contract term, not just the six-month pilot period.

Unfortunately, one of the 10 couples is at a high risk of getting a divorce. So, Ki-jun and Han-deul head for a site visit, but they are shocked to learn that the wife (cameo by Han Sun-hwa) is considering a divorce since her husband (a documentary photographer) is barely home and keeps travelling to take photos of animals, making her lonely. To get her to change her mind, Ki-jun and Han-deul settle to go searching for the husband, who is currently travelling to take photos of Korean tigers.

Texting Jeon-man to follow them there, Ki-jun and Han-deul, along with Ah-young, head first to the countryside village where the husband is supposed to be. Luckily for them, the village head, Park Woong-sik (Yoo Hyeon-soo), is eager to offer his help as he has a crush on Ah-young after going on a blind date with her.

While Ah-young and Woong-sik search the village, Ki-jun and Han-deul check the campsites around the mountains. But this is K-Drama land. So, of course, they get lost and can’t contact anyone because of their dead batteries. And wouldn’t you know it? While trying to find their way, a tiger appears before Ki-jun and Han-deul. But they aren’t the only ones there. The husband (cameo by Kwak Si-yang) is also there.

While Ki-jun and Han-deul are terrified, the husband is excited to spot a tiger and takes photos of it, calling it “kitty.” A less enthusiastic Ki-jun distracts the tiger and runs for his life with Han-deul and the husband. Recognizing the bearded man as the husband, Ki-jun and Han-deul ask him for a favor: meeting his wife. But the husband is reluctant to do this since things weren’t going well between them when he left. And now he is worried they might really get divorced. But with a nudge from Ki-jun, the husband musters up the courage to meet his wife.

Meanwhile, Jeon-man and Na-rae arrive at the village. But the search is already over. Since it will be a long drive back to Seoul, Na-rae and Jeon-man decide to stay the night and return the next day. The mood is tense, and though they only dance around the main topic without explicitly saying anything, Ki-jun can tell Jeon-man is falling for Na-rae and subtly gives them his blessing. Also, everyone can tell Na-rae is jealous of Ki-jun’s close relationship with Han-deul. However, she slightly comes around after a quick chat with Ha-neul.

“There is no way to know unless you open the box.”

Arriving at the village, the wife sits down for a chat with her husband. But it doesn’t go well. So, the wife asks our team to prepare for the divorce ceremony. Scrambling to keep the couple from getting divorced, Ki-jun suggests they throw a continuation ceremony, where the couple renews their vows. Luckily, they agree with it. With some help from Woong-sik, our team held the ceremony under the legal budget. Walking down the aisle once again, the couple looks more relaxed around each other and decides to give their marriage a second chance.

As we end this week, our team heads back to Seoul, leaving Ah-young behind to wrap up. Na-rae and Jeon-man head to a hotel to catch up on sleep, and it looks like Na-rae has decided to give up on Ki-jun and pursue a romance with Jeon-man. While Ki-jun and Han-deul stop by a guesthouse before hitting the road. On the way back, Ki-jun suggests that Han-deul stay at his house, getting her stunned.

The Divorce Insurance Episodes 5 and 6 Musings

The drama might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it has enough fun moments to keep us engaged. Like Jeon-man stepping in to help Na-rae when she looks uncomfortable around the villagers and making awkward dance moves and Ki-jun low-key flirting with Han-deul at the guesthouse. Asking her to stay at her house wasn’t about making a move on her, but was Ki-jun’s way of helping Han-deul feel less lonely. But if Han-deul agrees to the idea, the cohabitation will help bring them closer.

On a darker note, it seems like a rival company is preparing to launch a divorce insurance police, too. Which will make things harder for our team on top of the current hurdles. Hopefully, they will come out triumphant and overcome all those hardships through their sincerity and teamwork.
