A new trailer has dropped for tvN’s fantasy romance Head Over Heels starring teenage shaman Jo Yi-hyun (The Matchmakers) and her super unlucky classmate Choo Young-woo (The Trauma Code – Heroes on Call). While most high school students worry about grades and dating, our heroine has a much bigger problem on her hands: her first love is about to die!
By day, Park Sung-ah (Jo Yi-hyun) is an ordinary school girl with a major crush on Bae Kyun-woo (Choo Young-woo), but at night, she works as a shaman using her supernatural abilities. As Sung-ah says that those who walk upside down are saddled with misfortune and about to die, in walks Kyun-woo, hanging from the ceiling.
Thanks to his grandma seeking out advice for her unfortunate grandson, Sung-ah realizes that her first love only has twenty-one days to live. Determined to change his fate, our young shaman vows to save him, but it seems she will need to keep her alter ego a secret, especially from Kyun-woo.
Though Sung-ah saves Kyun-woo from falling signs and evil ghosts, from his perspective, it looks like a classmate throwing herself at him and spraying him with water. She even jumps into a fiery building without hesitation for him, but it only earns her a warning from her friend Cha Kang-yoon (Resident Playbook) who tells her to take it easy.
With Sung-ah popping up everywhere around him, Kyun-woo starts to notice and wonders what her motives are. She corners him in the school hallway — effectively pinning him against the wall — and announces for all to hear that the only thing she wants to do with him is love. Will this be the start of a new relationship, or will our high school shaman remain solo for a while longer?
Directed by PD Kim Yong-wan (The Whirlwind, If You Wish Upon Me) with scripts written by Yang Ji-hoon, tvN’s Head Over Heels is slated for twelve episodes and premieres June 23 in the Monday-Tuesday slot.
