Catching up on promos for the rom-com Second Shot at Love, tvN has come out with another teaser, poster, and more stills, where Gong Myung (Way Back Love) and Sooyoung (Not Others) raise a toast to family and love, as well as newly living alcohol-free.
As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, and as car mechanic Han Geum-joo (Sooyoung) fiddles with the camera angle and zoom, there’s quite a bit to glean about our characters just by seeing their interactions in the background. It’s a jolly mood all around with our group gathered to eat by the pretty waterside, and we see that it’s not only Geum-joo who likes spirited drinks with her food.
Dad Kim Sang-ho (The Haunted Palace) and older sister Jo Yoon-hee (7 Escape – Resurrection) are already downing glasses of beer on the sly. But they keep away from Mom Kim Sung-ryung (A Virtuous Business) who is busy serving the meal, as well as our doctor hero Seo Eui-joon (Gong Myung) who sits politely with a mug of barley tea by his side.
In the stills, we see that Geum-joo and Eui-joon have known each other since high school, and even Eui-joon once partook in drinks when the two were in college before they drifted apart. A sober Eui-joon has now returned to their hometown many years later, re-connecting with his first love Geum-joo and making their hearts flutter once again. But he also encourages Geum-joo to see drinking culture from a new lens and trade in her soju for water instead.
Directed by filmmaker Jang Yoo-jung (Honest Candidate) with Myung Soo-hyun (Monthly Magazine Home) and Jeon Ji-hyun co-writing, tvN’s upcoming Second Shot at Love will be premiering on May 12, following The Divorce Insurance in the Monday-Tuesday slot.
