Games Done Quick’s Frost Fatales Begins Another Run Sunday

AdminMarch 8, 2025

You might think Games Done Quick only runs its charity marathons twice a year, but there’s a spinoff now that fills the gap: Frame Fatales, a speedrun that consists of just female gamers. The GDQ proper they run two marathons per year: Frost Fatales at the end of winter, and Flame Fatales at the end of summer. The 2025 Frost Fatales marathon begins tomorrow and runs all week. Proceeds benefit the National Women’s Law Center.

The difference between this and the main GDQ marathon, aside from the focus on women, is that it doesn’t run 24 hours per day. Each day of Frost Fatales will begin at around 9:30 AM Pacific / 12:30 PM Eastern and conclude twelve hours later at 9:30 PM  12:30 AM. But a lot will be packed into those seven days: scheduled speedruns start with Cuphead, Super Mario Odyssey, Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, and the original Legend of Zelda on just the first day. Highlights through the week include Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble, Cult of the Lamb, Devil May Cry, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild, Tunic, Psychonauts, Sonic Mania, Balatro, Final Fantasy X-2, a “horror block” on Tuesday featuring Amnesia and Resident Evil 4, and finally, Celeste on the evening of March 15. Check out the full schedule through this link.

The National Women’s Law Center is an organization that represents gender justice in the courts, public policy, and society. Their goal is to repair imbalances in the justice system that affect women, particularly women of color, LGBTQ people and low-income women and families. This is Frost Fatales’ second marathon benefiting the NWLC.

You’ll be able to watch Frost Fatales on the regular GDQ Twitch channel live, and catch up on the runs separately as they’re uploaded to the GDQ archive on YouTube. Frost Fatales begins Sunday, March 9 and runs through Saturday, March 15.
