Devils ~ The Devil Swapped Bodies With Me

KDramaHQ AdminApril 11, 2025

“Devils” is a 2023 Korean film, categorized as Action, Crime, Mystery, Police Procedural, Body-Swapping, Horror, and Thriller; streaming on Tubi.

SUMMARY: Don’t think you can hide. Even if you are on the dark web you can still be brought to justice. But what if you switch bodies?

You Can’t Catch Me, I’m a Devil!

In “Devils”, the police are frantically trying to catch a serial killer or serial killers who boldly perform their murderous acts that can be viewed on the dark web. They dare the police to catch them. The accounts are anonymous and the IP addresses are untraceable. On the plus side, the police get tips.

The police got a tip, and they were hot on the trail of Jin-Hyeok, the serial killer. Jae-Hwan, a seasoned detective, and his partner, Min-Sung, had chased him into the woods. The killer managed to knock down Min-Sung, but Jae-Hwan continued chasing after him. They both fell over rolling down a hill together and then disappeared. The police spent a month combing the area trying to find either one of them or both of them. They vanished!

A month later, a car crashed into the parking lot of the police station. Jin-Hyeok, the serial killer, and the detective, Jae-Hwan, were both inside the car. Since they were both unconscious, they were immediately taken to the hospital. When Jae-Hwan woke up, he was handcuffed to the hospital bed, and when he looked in the mirror, he saw the face of Jin-Hyeok. HOW COULD THIS BE?

He remembers trying to capture Jin-Hyeok, the serial killer, and bring him in, but he also remembers being taken somewhere. He doesn’t know what happened to him, but he does know who he is. He’s Jae-Hwan, the detective. But how will he convince the others, his fellow detectives, along with his wife and daughter, that the man they think is him is the serial killer? He starts with Min-Sung, his partner. Even if he can’t fully convince him, because it’s kind of impossible to believe what he’s claiming – he has to at least make him doubt, ask questions, and investigate on his own. If nothing else, please check on his wife and daughter and ensure they are safe.

It is hard for Min-Sung to believe what Jin-Hyeok or …??… Jae-Hwan ??? … told him. A medical professional told him that body-swapping IS IMPOSSIBLE. Min-Sung had to ask because he needed to know if the serial killer was playing mind games and manipulating him OR if the person with the face of the serial killer is truly Jae-Hwan, the detective he knows and respects and considers a friend. No matter who this person is, there are serial killers still out there, and he is obligated to follow up on any leads. The man who claimed to be Jae-Hwan gave him a substantive lead that might result in capturing all of the serial killers.

Meanwhile, Jae-Hwan, in the body of Jin-Hyeok, was taken to prison, but he escaped. There was no way he was going to stay locked up in a jail cell while a serial killer lived in his home with his wife and daughter, taking his place. OVER HIS DEAD BODY! Dead body? Hhhmm?? Even if he does capture the serial killer and convinces everyone that swapping bodies IS POSSIBLE … suppose he can’t get his body back?

Where to Watch

Viewership and Rating:

  • IMDb: 5.8 out of 10 stars
  • My Drama List: 7.4 out of 10 stars
  • Letterboxd: 3.1 out of 5 stars

My personal rating is the same as MDL.

The plot is very similar to the American movie “Face Off” which starred John Travolta and Nicholas Cage. If you’re familiar with this movie, then you know you have to watch “Devils” to The End – with clenched fists – because the bad guy better get his comeuppance! If he doesn’t, you’re going to want to punch something! LOL.

However, my years of experience watching Korean dramas have taught me never to EXPECT the ending because … a lot of times, K-dramas just don’t end the way you expect them to. As an American, that’s part of the fun in watching them.
