While we wait for Critical Role to cook up its next giant campaign, they have several mini-adventures planned to pass the time. The latest is Wildemount Wildlings, an actual play series with a most unusual premise: summer camp.
Seems Mighty Nein’s Beau and Yasha, played by Marisha Ray and Ashley Johnson, have become camp counselors and are now guiding a rambunctious group of teens played by Eden Riegel, Aleks Le, Brennan Lee Mulligan, and Libe Barer. All seems normal until staff members begin vanishing. What’s going on and can our team solve the mystery before they become the next victims? The overall tone will mimic the tropes of various summer camp movies.
“Wildemount Wildlings is all about adventure, mischief, and friendship,” said Sam Riegel, who serves as Game Master for this unconventional adventure. “It’s a love letter to those classic camp movies we grew up with, but with the heart and chaos of a tabletop campaign. And, of course, some unexpected twists!”
The nice thing about these smaller campaigns is that, even though they take place in the same Critical Role universe (Exandria), you don’t need an encyclopedic knowledge of the lore to jump in, or worse have to deal with a gazillion-hour backlog. Wildemount Wildlings will just be three episodes long. You can sign up for this camp starting April 3 at 6 PM Pacific / 9 PM Eastern, at any place Critical Role traditionally broadcasts from: Twitch.tv/CriticalRole, YouTube.com/CriticalRole, and beacon.tv.
