The promos continue on tvN’s Head Over Heels with new posters and a behind-the-scenes look at the first script reading, arming shaman heroine Jo Yi-hyun (The Matchmakers) as a knight in shining hanbok to protect first love Choo Young-woo (The Trauma Code – Heroes on Call).
Indeed, our Park Sung-ah (Jo Yi-hyun) isn’t an ordinary highschooler, having been gifted with supernatural powers that allow her to traverse between the mortal and spirit realms. And it’s no easy feat to stress over her homework by day and then stress over her shaman duties by night.
But when Sung-ah foresees the death of her first love and mis-fortuned fellow student Bae Kyun-woo (Choo Young-woo), she’s determined to become Kyun-woo’s personal lucky charm and talisman in order to ward away all of his bad omens.
Sadly for Cha Kang-yoon (Resident Playbook), he’ll be the third leg in our story’s love triangle as Sung-ah’s bestie Pyo Ji-ho. Meanwhile, our villain is Chu Ja-hyun (Unmasked) taking on the character of Yeom-hwa, a shaman who gave up her humanity and chose a darker path.
Rounding out the shaman side in supporting roles, we have Sung-ah’s spirit mom Kim Mi-kyung (Knight Flower), in addition to Yoon Byung-hee (Tastefully Yours), Lee Young-ran (The Witch is Alive), and Lee Su-mi (When Life Gives You Tangerines).
Over at the school, the series also includes coach Park Jung-pyo (Light Shop) as well as students, Kim Sung-jung (West Side Story), Cha Yoo-hyun (Voice 4), and Hwang Se-in (Parole Examiner lee).
Production for the webtoon-adaptation and supernatural romance has PD Kim Yong-wan (The Whirlwind, If You Wish Upon Me) directing along with writing by Yang Ji-hoon. Broadcasting in tvN’s Monday-Tuesday slot, Head Over Heels will follow Second Shot at Love, premiering this month on June 23.
