Choo Young Woo Radiates Dangerous Charm in “Head Over Heels” Spellbinding First Glimpse – kdramadiary

KDramaHQ AdminJune 3, 2025

Ready to steal hearts in Head Over Heels, Choo Young Woo commands attention in character teasers for his latest role.

With visuals that are almost too dangerous to handle, he commands attention as the enigmatic Bae Gyeon-woo—prickly on the outside, but hiding a storm of emotion within.

Based on a hit webtoon, Head Over Heels tells the gripping story of Park Sung-ah (Cho Yi Hyun), a high school shaman who takes fate into her own hands to save her first love, and Bae Gyeon-woo, a boy fated to die who finds new meaning in her courage. The show promises a bold, refreshing take on destiny, first love, and second chances, guided by director Kim Yong-wan (Whirlwind, The Cursed) and writer Yang Ji-hoon, known for emotionally resonant storytelling.

New stills reveal Bae Gyeon-woo’s duality: cold eyes that keep people at a distance and a soft vulnerability that emerges when he’s alone with his bow and arrows—his only escape from a cursed life.

Though he’s spent years trying to ward off misfortune with the help of shamans, all he’s received are deeper wounds. But everything begins to shift when he meets the unpredictable Park Sung-ah, a “human talisman” who charges into his guarded world and gently, but insistently, taps on the door to his heart.

Choo Young-woo, a self-professed fan of the original webtoon, shared his excitement about the project: “The script was instantly engaging, and I saw it as a chance to reveal a different side of myself.” Describing Bae Gyeon-woo as “a sorrowful hedgehog who raises his thorns to protect others,” Choo hints at the emotional depth and complexity he brings to the role—a boy haunted by loneliness but still clinging to hope.

Featuring heart-tugging mix of danger, tenderness, and fate-defying romance, The Fairy and the Cowherd is poised to become the next must-watch K-drama.
