Choi Woo Shik And Jung So Min pair up for rom-com drama ‘Would You Marry Me’
The moment I read ‘marriage of convenience‘, that movie/TV show/ book gets my instant attention. The new SBS rom-com titled Would You Marry Me is another addition to this trope. The drama stars Choi Woo Shik (Parasite) and Jung So Min (Love Next Door) in the lead roles. She is not new to this plot — she was amazing in another marriage of convenience drama Because This Is My First Life — one of my all time favorites!
In Would You Marry Me, Choi Woo Shik stars as the only son and fourth-generation heir of a very old bakery. The character is described as a logical narcissist. Jung So Min plays a bold and quirky designer. They have a professional relationship. She wins a luxurious townhouse as a newlywed prize but her engagement gets called off. Now she needs a husband in order to protect the townhouse. Thus, she proposes to the hero who shares the same name as her ex-fiancé. They get married for 90 days but eventually fall in love. It’s funny that Because This Life Is Our First also had ‘house’ as a reason for Jung So Min’s character to get married.
I like both the main actors and have loved their work in the past. So hoping that the show is good and gives us perfect rom-com feels.
Would You Marry Me plans to air in the second half of 2025.
