Continuing from the first list that focused on Korean dramas – movies, and series – that are about relationships between brothers and sisters. Below are five (5) K-Dramas that focus on sisters. Sisterly love? Uuhh … sometimes.

A 2019 Korean drama series, 16 episodes, categorized as Thriller, Suspense, Crime, Mystery, Murder Mystery, and Police Procedural. Yoo Ryung has a twin sister, who is autistic, and she has gone missing. Her sister may be a victim of a serial killer. The police refer to the murders as the “Metro Serial Killings,” and the killer has been called the “Subway Ghost”. The victims are found on subway trains. However, her twin sister’s body was never found.
Yoo Ryung gets a job working with the subway police in the hoping against hope that her missing twin sister is still alive. Ko Ji-Seok is the team leader of the subway police team, meaning he’s supposed to be his subordinate. But somehow Yoo Ryung switched things around,d and he finds himself following her lead. What she does not realize is that the Subway Ghost has been secretly following her around.
One night, she was brutally assaulted on the subway train. The irony is that because the Subway Ghost had been following her, the criminal witnessed the assault by another criminal. The attack was frightening but it did not take aya Yoo Ryung’s resolve. She remained dedicated and continued actively working on various cases, while also searching for her twin sister.

A 2010 Korean drama TV series, 20 episodes; Romance and Family. Song Eun Jo (played by Moon Geun Young) loves her mother because she is her mother. But she also hates her mother because of her mother’s life choices. Her mom usually chooses to get hooked up to a man (any man) because she needs the money and a place for them to stay. But many times, the man turned out to be someone they had to run away from. Her mom left her one day with her stepfather, who was a drunkard, and stayed away for a long time. Turns out her mom had finally gotten herself hooked up with a rich guy! She sent people to get her daughter and bring her to her new home.
When she got to her new home, she found out that she had a stepsister, Ku Hyo-Seon (played by Seo Woo). Song Eun Jo’s life had always been hard because of her mother’s life choices. Now she’s stuck with a stepsister that she thinks is a pampered spoiled brat, who probably never had a hard day in her life. Her mother tells her that “this time,” everything will be OK. Yeah right. As if she’s naive enough to believe her mother. Song Eun Jo had no other choice. She was going to have to learn how to live with a mother and a sister that she hated. It didn’t help that she and her sister both liked the same guy.

(3) Little Women ~ Korean Version of an American Classic
A 2022 drama series, 12 episodes; Family, Youth, Crime, Mystery, Thriller, and Suspense. This is the story of three (3) Oh sisters who are living in poverty. The two older sisters, Oh In-Joo (played by Kim Go-Eun) and Oh In-Kyung (played by Nam Ji-Hyun), provide most of the financial support for the family. They both scrimped and saved to get a birthday gift for their baby sister, Oh In-Hye (played by Park Ji-Hu). It was money to go on a school field trip to Europe.
The mother stole the money and went to the Philippines to see their father. What was their reaction when they found out? The oldest sister said it best: “There are some women who don’t deserve to be mothers. Our mother is one of those women.” What could they do except … get back to work and keep on living!

A 2024 Korean drama series, 104 episodes; Romance and Revenge. Once upon a time, two sisters were close but got separated because their parents divorced. Lee Hye-Won (played by Lee So-Yeon) went to live with her father, and Lee Hye-Ji (played by Ha Yeon-Joo) lived with her mother. The father remarried and but the stepmother made Lee Hye-Won’s life difficult. The mother remarried, but Lee Hye-Ji grew up poor and was abused by her stepfather. She left home and changed her name to Bae Do Eun so she could make a life of her own.
After twenty (20) years, the two sisters meet again, but only Lee Hye-Won does not recognize her sister because Lee Hye-Ji has a different name. Lee Hye-Won is searching for her sister and probably imagines a happy reunion. But Lee Hye-Ji – now living as Bae Do Eun – harbors resentment toward her sister. Even though neither sister had a good life after their parents divorced, Lee Hye-Ji believes her sister stole her happiness and has now reappeared in her life. She wants revenge and also believes her sister might rob her of a good life again.

A 2015 Korean drama series, 16 episodes; Romance, Mystery, Thriller, Suspense, High School or Youth. Lee Eun-Bi and Ko Eun-Byeol (played by Kim So-Hyun) are twin sisters living in an orphanage who got separated when one was adopted. One lived a happy life while the other was bullied at school. Ko Eun-Byeol attended a private high school, was a model student, her mother cherished her, and she had friends. Her life was perfect.
Lee Eun-Bi lived at the orphanage and attended a high school where she is constantly bullied. One day, a bully took it too far by lying about her. Nobody defended her and she felt like the situation was hopeless. Lee Eun-Bi attempted to commit suicide, but someone (?) saved her life. When she woke up in the hospital, a woman was by her bedside. The woman told her that he a her mother. The failed suicide attempt had caused Lee Eun-Bi to lose her memory, so she believed the woman was her mother. But it was actually Ko Eun-Byeol’s mother. The mother believed that Lee Eun-Bi was her daughter, Ko Eun-Byeol. But … ??? … where is Ko Eun-Byeol?
