Am I the only one who can’t believe that we are already in 2017? Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad to be moving on and looking to the future for new and better things. I have supremely high hopes for the new year both with blogging and with dramas. As always I set myself a few goals and look back at what I wanted to accomplish in 2016. In previous years that I’ve done things real life has prevented me from really doing all the things I wanted to do here in the blogverse and dramaland.
I set my self a hefty set of goals that I wanted to do in 2016, so let’s take a look back at what my New Year Drama Resolutions were for 2016!!
2016 Resolutions
Perhaps if I hadn’t needed to take some time away from blogging in order to handle some real life stuff I might have been able to get through the whole list! However, I am pretty pleased with what I was able to do with the time I was able to dedicate to my blog and dramas. I want to start with the things that I didn’t actually manage to do in 2016. First, I wanted to do another interview! I didn’t, so sad! However! I have set it up with a very lovely lady so that soon (this month) I will be doing another interview! I had so much fun interviewing KFangurl and Lady G that I am really super excited to do another one! I also have a few other bloggers that I want to approach for interviews as the year goes on so hopefully I can add this to my list of semi-regular blog posts. Second one that I didn’t get to was have a guest blogger. Boo! I really wanted to do this, but do not despair! I am collaborating with the gorgeously lovely Lady G on more Dream Dramas and we’ve talked loads of her writing here on the blog too! I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to check this off the list too. But, if you my amazingly beautiful readers would like to have a guest blogger spot on the Drama Noona I would be so honored to have you! The last thing on the list that I wasn’t able to get done was to have the Hubs watch another drama with me. Though if it was just a few days earlier I could mark this off! We just finished Aftermath 1 & 2, so that’s super awesome!
Now for the fun part, I want to talk about all the cool and fun stuff that I did get to do! Out of ten items I got to check off eight things, now I’d say that’s pretty darn good! I did have another Squeefest (get together virtually with other drama fans and live watch dramas via Skype/Google Hangouts), it was a tiny Squeefest with me and one other but I totally count it as a Squeefest! I have continued to keep the Noona Meter updated and am always open to suggestions of dramas that need to be added! It is still the top reason people visit my blog! A huge win for me was getting Chapter 7 of Heart Murmurs written!!! I am so happy that I have been able to get back to writing my fanfiction based on every drama trope that I can shove into a single story! I absolutely need to thank Shukie Sunbaenim for all of her help and work on the story! I also have Chapter 8 outlined and once life settles down from the holidays I plan on writing more! So excited! Next, keeping learning Korean! I am, though it is slow going. I’m looking for a good online classroom or perhaps if I’m lucky a tutor in the area. However, I have added about fifty more words to my list and am always working to learn more.
The rest of my list deals with dramas! I wanted to catch up on dramas that aired in 2015 that I wasn’t able to get to. I wasn’t around much in 2015 again due to real life. So I have twenty dramas on my list from 2015 that I really wanted to see, I managed to watch eleven of them in 2016! I think that’s pretty awesome! I also wanted to watch more dramas as they aired in 2016. As the year progressed my list of 2016 dramas kept growing, there were a ton of shows that I really wanted to see. Especially since I expanded my viewing realm into many more Japanese dramas and into Chinese and Thai dramas too! Of the shows that aired in 2016 I wanted to watch thirty-six of them. I dropped five, put two on hold, but I did watch eight of them! I think that’s pretty freaking cool! Seeing as I watched thirty-one dramas in total for 2016 I’d say I did a pretty good job on the last item on the list, work on watching more from my growing to watch list! All in all I’m really happy with how I did with my resolutions for last year!
Now, without further ado here are my New Years Resolutions for 2017!!
2017 Resolutions
I’ve kept a few on there, as I feel it is important to continue to work on them! Especially learning Korean and the Noona Meter. And I’ve added a few new ones. I really want to write more drama reviews, I only wrote fourteen reviews in 2016. It is the most reviews I’ve ever written in a year, but I want to make that a priority of the blog. When I initially made this space that was the purpose. I did have a computer crash in 2016 so I lost notes on about twelve dramas, sad panda! I had planned to back track and write those reviews even though it had been a year or so since I’d watched the show. But I wasn’t able to recover the data so instead I am going to work with the notes I have for the past four months since the crash and of course the dramas I will watch in the future.
Thank you everyone for once again coming by and seeing what I’m up to here! I appreciate all of you so much! I hope that your 2017 holds much happiness and blessings! Hwaighting!!!
